It's an utterly stupid price, and butt ugly to these eyes....

Did guys agree that the top is original to the guitar? Or that it isn't a burst that got modded? I remember there were some disagreements at the thread

Is the price off by $100K, or just $90K?

Nah, it's off by $105K. It's a $20K guitar at most.

It is a lovely guitar. Really, it is awesome looking, but that price tho. :wah

I feel so dirty after praising that guitar back in January. I didn't realize I was participating in a pump-and-dump thread. :dang

Pricing that guitar would be kinda difficult. The highest price I ever heard of for a Custom was $125k at the VERY height of the market for one that looked brand new. So, 1/2 price for a refin and another 1/2 price for all the silliness with the loss of the serial number and the material hogged out of the control cavity and the pickup cavities, and the fact that it might be really pretty but it's got the wrong plastic, fretboard and binding for a burst. Add back in the nice refin and the killer top, maybe $30-40k? Might make a difference if it were super light, super resonant and great sounding?

Is there any proof or provenance that Gibson made a Custom in 1960 with a maple top?

In all honesty, I wouldn't give you 15k for it.

I would :salude because I think it's a gorgeous looking guitar.
