Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
I have read some conflicting info online about late 1962 es-335 neck profiles. Do these tend to start filling out later in the year or are they generally still super slim just like a 1961?
In my experience necks vary in this period. The fatest neck on a Gibson I have is my 63 SG Jnr. Bigger than my R4. Yet I have played a very flat wide and thin SG from the same year.
So there is no single rule and you really must play (or measure properly) each guitar.
I've had '62 ES models (335, 345, 355) and, as noted above, the neck profiles can cover a broad range. All were playable and enjoyable however! Hard to go wrong with a classic (1958-64) Gibson ES!
