Hey guys,

Can anyone provide me with some info regarding a 1980 Les Paul standard in Holly Green?

Am I right in thinking this is a rare finish?

Cheers

Looks completely different to other Bahama blue models.

This is definitely more green!

I thought it could be Bahama blue but it looks completely different to other Bahama blue models.

This is definitely more green!

No sign of blue anywhere on the guitar…

Just FYI --

This Trogly video showed some Bahama Blue by way of comparison with a Custom Color Bluish-Green finish:

I think trogly may have got his colours wrong!

This video of his details a Bahama blue les Paul and it’s different from the above video.

Trogly knows it's a different Custom Color, and the prior owner explains all.

He was using Bahama Blue in the other video given he was on a quest to discover precisely what the Custom Color might be, and was originally wondering if it might be Bahama Blue with an extremely aged lacquer, ambered over to give it that appearance... When he spoke with the prior owner, he discoovered it was a one-off green.

Not the same colour!

An easy way to confirm the original color shade is to check under the control cover or toggle switch cover. The painted areas hidden by the plates would be the original shade without any aging.

A 40 year old yellow clear coat can turn a blue guitar into a greenish guitar, just saying.

Looks like Inverness Green that’s had its clear coat amber up over time, giving it a slightly darker shade.

Could be a special order or a dealer exclusive (if they did those back then) or maybe it’s just a refin. Either way, I dig it! (y)
