And to think that people would call my early 70's Norlin Customs vintage... LOL. Atleast if I decide to sell on the Bay, I can call them vintage :)

As to the question on the Heritage. I've played a few and thought they were nice guitars. One thing I noticed on one of them was that it seemed that the fret scale might of been off. Even using a strobe tuner for intonation, the thing would not play in tune all the way up the neck. Yes, alot of guitars might have some degree of this. This one Heritage was different, it had definite problems.

Yup thats the one. I know one of the guys there and he calls me anytime somthing interesting comes in to see if I'm interested before they list it. It's a great player and has the TS PuPs there a good amount of buckle rash and a few dings I'd say about 8.5. I just picked up an all original 72 Tele Moca so cash is a little tight and the wife is starting to wonder why I have so many more cases:)

TS pickups? That guitar should have Shaws which is one of the main reason those guitars are cool.

Since there probably is a good number of H-80 fans here, can you guys answer this for me: why do you prefer a H-80 over a Historic? I've had a few H-80's and I don't know if it's just nostalgia or if I genuinely miss that guitar. At the time I didn't think it compared to my Historic, but you know how that is a moving scale... ;) I find myself starting to GAS for a H-80 lately and I don't know why????
H80's are great guitars, and I can imagine you'd miss yours. After putting in Tim White's EdA's in my '81, I've A/B'ed mine against a bunch of R8's and R9's and just cannot fine one that is equal in tone, playability, and build quality. I'm sure all you Historic lovers think I'm nuts (and you may be right :) ), but I've been playing 36 years and have owned and played a lot of guitars in that time. There's something special about these guitars. :heritage :smokin

Well, if memory serves me, you've got a real LIGHT one (like 8.5ish...?) So, I'd bet yours is pretty special compared to the average H-80. And it does have a killer top to boot! :salude

I played my H80 against a R9 2000 and a 78 Standard Deluxe conversion. My H80 was stock at the time, and being a tad darker using 300k pots and the Shaws being a bit warm conpared to the others. But pound for pound, I honestly(as well as the others in the shop at the time) couldn't see a $3000 difference in tone and playability. I was really holding my own against the R9.

Later on down the road I noticed though that the Shaws go microphonic with larger amounts of distortion so I had to go for a uncovered SD. But this guitar still rocks my socks off week after week.

I recently acquired a Heritage Elite, 1980, #43 of the series off the Nashville Line according to the serial. It's in great condition and the top is really cool. It's not an amazeballs quilt top but it's got essence of flame, birdseye, blister, and quilt depending on where the light is hitting it. It weighs over 10 lbs. The Shawbuckers are simply the best pickups I've personally ever played. The Heritage Elite doesn't play quite as smoothly as my 2019 R9, but it has it's own vibe and plays well. I think that the thing I like the most is the super low frets. If I ever get a M2M, I'd probably model it after a ew of the Heritage specs.

Who else has one?

Those are great. See, now I realize that I need another Elite in the Cherry Sunburst finish. Damn.
Actually, that Elite is honey burst - one is lighter, the other is darker. Just looks that way in the photo. My Heritage 80 Standard (first photo below) and Heritage 80 Award (second photo) are both cherry sunburst.

Those are incredible. I'm planning on selling some gear to grab another Heritage. Going for one of the reasonably-priced Heritage Standards.

Is that second one really gold plated, was that original? I did not know they offered that
This is an H80 Award. That a Dealers only limited edition as an award for great selling numbers.

My H80 Elite is heavy modified (had a Kahler route at one time) and has an ABR now. Its has tone of its own and not comparable to other LPs i have.
