• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

My guitar tech had a beautiful LP that he had shown me a couple of months ago, that he wanted to sell

It was a beautiful LP and told him I wanted it and I'd sell some gear to take it off his hands.

Well with all this C19 stuff going on, NOBODY is buying anything off CL or FB Marketplace.

Anyway he called me this weekend and asked me if I could please buy his LP ASAP.

He told me his guitar tech work is pretty much nonexistent, and his wife lost her job 3 weeks ago.

I had to talk to my wife about getting money out of the bank to buy the guitar, and she gave me the green light.

I talked to my buddy, and we came to a price that was fair to both of us.

I was happy to help him out with all the work he does for me.

My new to me 2000 Gibson Amber Classic Premium Plus LP Standard:

Thanks guys.

I'm really happy I was able to help out a friend and score an amazing Gibson LP in the process.

The guitar sounds and plays amazing.

I don't have another Gibson with these pair of Humbuckers in them, but they bring something different tone wise to the table, that I don't already have.

The pickups are ceramic magnets and 500T for the bridge and 496R for the neck

Thanks guys.

After playing this guitar for several hours yesterday and today, I can say that this guitar is definitely a keeper.

I'm really impressed with the tones and playability of this guitar.

I've gotta say that I'm REALLY glad that the neck leans toward a 50's neck, that just feels perfect in my hand.

To me the neck is what separates the keepers from the ones that get moved along.

Trans-Amber is now a Custom option. From Standard model to the Classic. A great finish option besides the Lemondrop/Gary Moore etc.

Thanks guys.

I'm so grateful that I was able to acquire this amazing guitar.

It's a beautiful guitar that sounds and plays just amazing.

I'm a Happy Camper for sure.

There's nothing like bringing in another great Gibson LP into the fold.

Nice score, helped your friend out too to boot.

Yes.

It really got him over the financial hump.

His wife is now back at work, and now he's starting to get
a nice steady flow of guitar tech work.

I'm glad that this was a win/win for both us.

You got a LP Classic that doesn't have a 60s neck? What a find. I figure the only reason these gems aren't astronomical prices is because the reissue-loving traditionalists generally dislike skinnier necks

Glad it worked out for everyone. I had a couple Classics from 2000-2001 and they are nice guitars. If everything is stock, one big upgrade is to change all the pots to 500k. It opens up the sound quite a bit. My Classics had 300k pots and the difference was very noticeable.

Congrats on the beautiful guitar.

Thanks SV

I've been giving this some thought.

I'm not crazy about the 300K pots in it,but I don't know if changing them will affect it's value.

I kinda want to keep it all original, but if changing out the pots doesn't have any bearing on the value, I'd most likely do it.
