Yeah, I agree! First bid for $5500.00??? And with no serial number listed or pictured?? Brazilian R9's have been soft so I would think 4K range for a '58. But that's just MO.

Considering you sell LPs, I guess this is the best answer. What is the highest you've seen one go for? When was the market hottest?

Regarding that Ebay price - converting that to Canadian dollars makes it a tougher sell in my opinion. That's not cheap for people to the north.

It still comes down to what someone is willing to pay for one. And right now alot of people aren't reaching for their wallets, at least on this side of town anyway.

All the paperwork in the add says 8 3038 I owned 2 Brazilian r8s within 6 digits of that one ,and they were both VERY bright , actually downright harsh guitars ,that I decided not to keep ...

One's on Ebay right now (wrong case).

Depending on the dealer it came from, that is the right case. When I bought my 2003 58 BR new, the dealer gave me that case and the black one. They said Gibson shipped them both cases.

I got mine from a dealer direct from supplier Yorkville Sound when they came out. I only got the black case. I guess the Liftons never came with the guitar in Canada. I do remember the box havin "BRAZ" written on it in marker. I was happy to see that when the guitar came in.

WRONG WRONG & WRONG! The 58 on Ebay for sale is mine and I recent the fact anyone including Mark would say that is a shill bid but it dont suprise me. Mark likes to take cheap shots at me for selling one of his customers $6000.00 guitar that he didnt buy from him and he cant get over it. But I must admit guys I like the attention so please keep talking it up. I have even had bidders from Japan and Europe telling me they are waiting to snipe it but with the current private offer I have on the guitar I may end the auction and take it.

I don't know your history with Mark, and don't care too, but the first bid does raise a shill bid eyebrow. I would have suspected the same. It's a beautiful guitar and I'm sure you will get a pretty penny for it. Good luck:jim Lets take it easy here.:salude

You can be as nasty as you want, but how about proof reading your posts, eh? Some decent punctuation and correct spellings might give you a little more credibility.

Mark is a standup dealer. Taking cheap shots at him here is not going to get you far.

And by the way, it's "consigliere".
