• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I bought this baby brand new and used it for about 9 years. We played 3 nights per week at 3-4 hours and I never switched guitars, so it has thousands of stage hours. When I left the band I put it away in the case and have only just now started playing again. Dan Erlwine did a setup and even wrote an article about it in StewMac. It’s filthy, but I love the character and it plays like a dream.

It got a lot of attention on FB so I thought you guys may appreciate a road warrior like this. 1CDA7A1B-FCA9-4727-8781-302E2532E017.jpegC64A7D5D-9312-4219-8DD9-A6A7F4112FDA.jpegA1365C59-8EC0-4C84-8F5A-9A98EB57809B.jpeg

How did you wear away the paint in such a way on the top? What caused it?

My 1995 R9 has maybe a few hundred gigs on it. More 1hr sets than 4hr, but still, many, many gigs. (Maybe about 1 out of every 3 or 4 shows was 3+ hours?)
Anyway, it shows signs of wear - but not like that!
But then, I baby my guitars. (Maybe "baby is too strong a word - but you know what I mean.)

a) Being played back in the day.
b) As it is more or less today. Well, as it was sometime quite recently.

I saw that on the FB post - and I dig the wear even more on my bigger screen. That's honest wear, though some cleanup still wouldn;t hurt.
