Just purchased a 2009 Les Paul Traditional Cherry Burst. Plays great, very heavy but also very bassey. I play though an old Airline bass amp (15inch) and a Marshall Guvnor. But even doing extensive tone adjustment through the amp and Guvnor tone controls it’s difficult to get a less bassey sound.
I have run it though a small Marshall solid state I have and it sounds less bassey but still more bassey than my other Les Paul’s.
Don’t want to go out and get new pickups yet but wanted to know if any of you have experienced the same issue with 2009 through maybe 2012 Les Paul Traditional Les Pauls

Have you played with pickup height/tilt and polepiece adjustments?

Photos would help.

I have adjusted the bridge pickup up a bit and neck pickup down. no noticeable change to my ears.
Thanks for your response by the way.
