• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

2010 LP Studio with unfamiliar pickups?

I am a newer player and not a Gibson aficionado, so I'm reaching out to you fine folks with my question. I have a 2010 LP Studio that I am getting ready to sell, but I have no idea what these pickups are. They look like normal black and white pickups, but each portion of the pickup has a toggle switch. It definitely changes the sound, but other than that ???

Any information would be really appreciated.

Welcome to the Forum!
Its not easy to tell PAF clones without seeing every detail and the back of the pickups. But they could also be stock on the first glimpse.
In your case i can tell you that the previous owner bought and fit some Seymour Duncan pickup rings that can do switch series to parallel and single coils. These are called Triple Shot.

The pick up rings are Duncan rings with built in coil switches for custom switching each coil to reconfigure the pickup. Uses four conducting wired pickup leads and allows for many posible custom selections of pick up sounds. The coils look like Duncans, but most brands use similar coilforms so hard to tell, underside of pup base should carry a brand and model.

You guys are awesome! Thanks for the info. I'll probably end up taking them out to verify so I don't BS the next buyer.
