This is a 2013 Les Paul Standard that I really enjoyed having e cept the color was so mundane. I had Shelley Ferrell of Nashville Fretworks refinish her about a year ago. Please checkout the pics, he saved the bag of plastic chips that came off of the guitar.
I’m thinking Gibson only does true 100% nitro on their CS guitars and does a light mist of nitro and the ncovers it with polyurethane thus the bag of plastic chips that came off the guitar. The guitar went from good to great, the tone of the guitar really woke up. I think this is because the maple cap can react to the string vibration through the pickup much better. It really sounds like a different mor alive guitar. I’m not dissing Gibson, I have no reason to, I am fortunate enough to have 2-Les Pauls and a R7 on the way, I just find this to be interesting.
