335 input jack problem

While playing my 335 at home i noticed my imput jack was loose..After tightning it up, :## Probaly too much..Iam now getting no sound..all cables,amps other guitars working..What did i do too it !!!

Probably just snapped a solder point while it was twisting and turning.

Try using the output jack instead............but really.....probably either popped a solder joint, or now you have a hot joint hitting a ground.

Loosen the nut slightly. Just enough to turn the jack some. Plug your cable in. If you get sound with the jack moved, then it's just the shield wire hitting the tip of the jack shorting it out. If that doesn't work then either take it to a tech or try and fix it yourself if you're handy with a soldering iron and pulling jacks from semi's.

They got cute tools at Stewmac's that allows you to tighten the jack without twisting the "invisible part" of it. Hope it helps, best o' luck:wah

I was gonna suggest that also, It's called the gripper. Great tool! I bought it owning a Byrdland and a 335, it's a must have tool.:peace2
