I picked up a Tandberg 4 track reel to reel in a thrift shop. Mint condition in the orignal shipping box, with warranty cards, service manual, operating instructions, and original bill of sale dating 1964.
It is made in Norway, so I was expecting some killer tubes. Inside I found a butt load of Mint Telefunken smooth plate 12ax7's and 12au7's What a score!!!!
I bet this thing will sound killer as a pre amp for my AC30.

I think Ritchie Blackmore used an Akai tape deck as a preamp/echo unit. Nice score.

I believe Blackmore used a Revox for echo. Killer tape machine too!

I was using it yesterday, and it amde my princeton reverb sound like a mini bluesbreaker. Pretty killer overdrive when you crank hte recording levels. There is also a way to use it as an echo chamber, but I need to replace the drive belts.
