• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Whoa, that R-9 looks and sounds completely different from every other year of production thus far. Thanks for posting! :dude:

Can't tell any difference in sight. But, it sounds more clear. The notes have more clarity. He revealed all of the things we already know about the Historics...waiting for more specs

Sound pretty good, but he can make a broomstick with strings on it sound good.

I'm actually more curious to know what amplifier was used in that footage; whatever it was, it sounds pretty good.

Best line: "This is the world premiere, this is the fiftieth anniversary of the 1959 Les Paul Reissue."

I bet all of his guitars get replacement pots after two shows. You ever watch him in concert, can't ever stop touching the knobs even when he doesn't need to.

The neck pickup does sound pretty clear!!!!! The bridge and middle sound a little Tele like....

So, from that we can glean that nothing but old growth Honduran Mahogany was used, the neck carve is correct....maybe the bridge/tailpiece placement is correct too!!!....

Speaking of reissues, I have to wonder what impact the government's 80th Anniversary Great Depression Reissue (which appears to have already premiered, and thus far seems pretty historically accurate to the original) is gonna have on the sales of these 50th Anniversary 1959 Les Paul Reissues.... :hmm

It's hard to tell...but I thought it looked more accurate. Least from my position..ie..drinking a beer, looking through a screen with bad resolution with glasses at second hand crappy video made with a phone camera....
