50th R8 Murphy low E saddle stabbing my palm

Just snagged a great deal on a 50th R8 - arrived yesterday, dropped in new set of SLE-101 Ltds killer tone now.

However, The low E saddle has that sharp point where the angled edge meets the back part of the saddle...it is jabbing my palm mercilessly. It seems these are a new design saddle with a very sharp bevel point. It is almost putting a hole in my palm like a needle jab.

My wrist always rides the saddle - any suggestions to avoid an ER visit ?

I had the same issue with the R6 I bought a week ago. I took a metal nail file and carefully filed the corner so it wasn't so sharp.
Edit: I didn't need to remove the strings of the bridge from the guitar.

Thought about flipping the saddle around, but of course the bevel is needed along the axis where it currently is, to hold the intonation...good idea simple solution, tks. man.

Either are fine solutions, I'd probably just get a file and round it off, there'd be no guarantee that the other side would be much better.

HOWEVER, new guitar... Where are those pics?!

We wait with anticipation! :peace2

Of course, I learned that these flash shots really show more flame than natural light...but it's a cool top. Just do not like the board color..may have it pro darkened.

Thanks guys - added a couple of natural light shots yesterday. It's a good piece, good vintagey tone with the Throbaks.
