here is my Fender Custom Shop Teambuilt 52 Telecaster in purple metallic heavy relic. This model along with an cool looking copper debuted at the Musikmesse in Frankfurt. I saw a video of these two models and fell in love with the color.
I never wanted a maple board Tele. I favour the rosewood board for the looks, but after playing a 61 RI, a Fano Tele and this 52 i couldn´t help it and bought it. It became instantly my number 1 closely followed by my custom ordered DC Junior.
The only thing that bothered me is the neck pu. Its good but not great. Thinking of getting a Mini Humbucker...
The pickguard is also gone, it was the Gatton colored white one.
Maybe it gets a Blackguard or stays that way...

Its also featured in the German mag "grand gtrs"

Very cool guitar.

The Tele neck pickup might be my favourite electric guitar sound. They're very sensitive to height adjustment though. Find the sweet spot and it could really sing.

First thing was the height adjustment of the neck PU.
It sounds better now but this model has the twisted Tele PU and the neck sounds a bit to "spongy", it has no authority so to speak.

In that case I'd try out a different Tele neck pickup before routing it for a mini hum.

Black guard would look really cool on this.

What is it you look for in a neck pickup? I think the twisted Tele pickup was supposed to give more of a Strat sound to the neck pickup. You might prefer a more vintage sounding Tele neck pickup. On that front, I've had a lot of luck with Fender's Original Vintage Tele pickups, and I really like Seymour Duncan's Vintage Rhythm STR-1 and Antiquity. Bare Knuckle make a great range of vintage style Tele pickups, and their site has some great descriptions and sound clips for comparison.

I'm sure there are loads more great options, but those are the ones I'm most familiar with.
