That is an interesting option which I’ve not seen before tbh.. especially with the CC pickup.. depends on the body depth tbh..
but there’s also the main issue of me being a “brand and location build bitch” 🇺🇸

Bonjour.

Yeah but you might use it as a placeholder or stepping stone until you find the Be-All-Branded one. Find one new or even used, then flip it...

Spruce top, maple back and sides. Max Body Dim:
• Length: 19 1/2 inches
• Width: 15 3/4 inches
• Depth: 3 3/4 inches

How about a D'Angelico Master Builder?
I’ve always liked the New Yorker alas as much as the depth is perfect it’s still a very large guitar.. and the master built still commands a hefty used price too.
Just give me a single PAF 175 and shave 1.5” off the depth .. and I’ll be happy. It’s not too much to ask for..

Reissues exist; of course, it may be within reach to find a vintage and assess condition.

I know someone with a guitar that I think might fit the bill. It is a decent price too. Where are you located approximately just to see if it is feasible?

@Subliminal lanimilbuS I’m in London UK but have been known for travelling abroad for the right guitar at the right price.
What guitar do you have in mind and where is it located?

That would require a trip over the Atlantic or shipping. I saw it a couple weeks ago in a small city a couple hours away from me. If I already didn't have something kind of like it I probably would have made an effort to get it myself. It is a 70's Fujigen guitar built in Japan. According to what the store told me the gentleman that has it on consignment there said it was custom ordered through a store called Lamberti Bros. in the mid 70's in Australia. It is exactly the shape of a 175, but it is thinner. It has a center block and standard bridge and tailpiece (non-trapeze). I was pretty blown away at how smooth it sounded and it played like butter. The best part is it was $750. Just for fun I will see if I can get them to send me a picture if they still have it.

@Subliminal lanimilbuS that does sound interesting, I did have a 70s Tokai 175 copy with duel p90s which I sold recently.. that was a great guitar. The one you described sounds great.. with the thinner body.. my only concern is that many of the early Japanese models have a much smaller neck width to accommodate smaller Japanese hands. Where are you in the US.. I travel a lot to the states (to certain city’s).. so if it’s on my map it wouldn’t be an issue.
