Hi all

Recently picked up an older Traditional with 57 Classics. I actually don't mind the pickups, nice PAF tone, but I think the neck, other than solos and single lines, is a bit muddy. I wouldn't mind a touch more clarity and definition on the bridge too.

So seen a few clips about the Darkburst/Crossroads combo, and loving the tone. But obv the clips may not be the best reference. Anyone had any personal experience and thoughts/comparisons?

I've known Jim for decades! There's no objective way for me to comment about your question.

Wagner is a fucking monster. Shorter than me too..... that's kinda rare. Dude has some really nice pickups.

Wagner makes great stuff, however......

My 1999 R9 came stock with the 57 classics. I have swapped the pickups in that guitar (more times than I can count) with all manner of boutique pickups, custom winds etc. The 57 Classics keep going BACK IN that guitar and after years of chasing my tail - this is the way it will stay. I fell in love with the sound of that guitar on day one, for a reason.
