• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Awesome! I find it so humbling to play amps like these at full volume, there's so much air moving and every note is out there, in my case, especially the bad ones :)

EDIT: dammit, now I'm on a Green Manalishi trip

Believe me I hit more than my fair share of bad notes!! Believe it or not Peter Green used to own this Les Paul.

No- fuck no! That was great. It takes a pair of brass-ones to post on here- esp those classic tunes! I think those were very defining clips- they show the difference- but a good mic would help.
Thanks Chard. Good stuff.

I'm also really glad you posted these clips, both those amps sound fantastic to my ears.

Bravo Chard - a great demo.

Thanks for sharing Chard. That must have been fun! Did you have a favorite of the two?

It looks like it would be a great location to have a bass player and drummer with you in that space, as well.

I didn't notice any mics, was that recorded with a cell phone?

Btw, does that Bassman need a bit of servicing? There seems to be some sort of sound coming out of it even when you weren't playing.

Oh yeah, nice old Les Paul Deluxe too! I used to have an early cherry sunburst one in the early to mid 80s. (It was probably a 71 or 72)

One of my oldest friends still has his 69 Deluxe that he's owned since the late 70s!

Back in '78 (showing my age here) I played bass in a band that had two guitar players. One of them played a '70 LP through a Bassman like you played through. Just guitar, cord, amp and talk about tone!

He also had a '59 LP. Didn't want to take it out live but at my request he brought it to practice one day because I wanted to hear for myself "what all the fuss was about." I found out real quick. As good as what the '70 LP sounded, the '59 LP immediately sounded bigger. I remember how even the higher notes seemed to hit you in the chest.

Thanks for posting!

Thanks. Yes recorded with an iPad as I didn’t have any proper recording gear available at the time. Both amps could probably do with some form of TLC to be honest about it.

Both amps do different things so I don’t have a favourite. The bassman however is much, much louder, pushing super lead volume where the JTM45 is more Vox AC30 like in terms of outright volume.
