I had no intention of spending money when I awoke last Saturday, let alone on anything large. I was on FB when a guy posted some pics on the local guitar-group page and asked if anyone was interested. I immediately messaged him, and by noon it was mine. I asked how much and he said make an offer. I didn't realize I was stealing it for what I paid, but I apparently did.
The three speakers missing magnet covers are Celestion T1221s, the G12M 75 Hz spec, and all date to 4/22/71. Their cones are stamped 102 003, which makes them Pulsonics, the most-sought-after Celestions. The Blackback T1221 dates to 2/27/78 and has the typical 1777 cone. The cab's SN# and specs indicate late 1970 (small gold logo, Basketweave fretcloth) - early 1971 (chipboard back panel), so 1971 is a safe conclusion. It has rested in a road case for many years, thus its condition. I cut out the old wiring, cleaned up the terminals and rewired everything to look like it would've when it left the factory. The first picture of the speakers shows the spaghetti I found inside the cabinet, followed by what my curiosity discovered when I peeled the electrical tape off one of the connections after I was done rewiring. Glad I looked!
I never had any intention of going down the Pulsonic rabbit hole, but I've learned a lot in the last week. I just made a deal for a pair of Pulsonic T1221s 10 days older than those in my cabinet, so now I will be praying for their safe travels from France.
