I think about purchasing a 1973 LP Custom.
It´s a player, well worn. I am not sure about a repair in the headstock area.
Do you think the volute looks cosher ?

Seller states there´s no repair.

Thank you all !

Besides replaced keys, I don't see anything wrong in that photo.
What looks suspicious to you? :hmm

A food that conforms to the regulations of Jewish dietary law ?

Okay, yes, the volute on that guitar is " kosher " :hee :hmm

Better pics of the back and front of the headstock would be helpful.

I`d need more pics.
First guess is that it looks odd. Kinda too
smooth/rounded. Better [pic of same area

Yes, that´s it . The edge of the volute is not sharp. It´s like sanded over. I think there are some changes in colour as well in this area.
That´s the only pic I got . I know it´s hard to tell from pictures. Black is a very special thing to photograph as well.

Cheers

Sorry for using the word "cosher" in a wrong context .

Looks a little too rounded for me. What's up with the binding? Should see more than a sliver from that angle. There are boatloads of early customs. Move on if unsure at all.

based on just that one photo, I'd guess it's OK because you can see the 3pc neck lines going thru the rounded volute. I don't think you'd see those after a repair.
