Just bought a '75 LP Deluxe that has Kluson tuners. I believe the correct tuners would be these but with a nickel peg? Should I bother looking for a set or leave it alone? ThanUntitled.pngks!

My memory is that these Nashville Deluxes would have chrome tulip tuners. The first clue is the decal serial on the head stock. I could confirm that if you could tell me if the output jack is chrome. If it is, the tuners would be the chrome tulips.

Mr. Womack is correct. Originals are the chrome tips.
But don't change them back. The chrome tips were terrible. That's why someone else changed them.

Should be plastic double ring.
Sorry. I just assumed they would be the same as a '77.
Makes me wonder when the silver tips actually started. Was this guitar built in Kalamazoo?
I don't remember seeing any double rings in Nashville until the 80's.

Thanks for the info. I stand corrected.

A friend’s father owned a music store, so I remember seeing new ones coming in with the metal tips - I was bummed, as I’ve always found the old tulips beautiful.
Can’t swear what year it was, but ‘77 sounds about right.

The double ring tuners that was used in the '70s are hard to come by (hard to find the correct color tip), and should one get busted it becomes obvious why they are replaced with a complete set. There should be a stockpile of them some place as Grovers often took their place during that period.
