• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Just finished my afternoon sit-down, with my trusty "bathroom" copy of BOTB, and I have a new crush on #9 2204 (p-116-117).
Man, that guitar has some SERIOUS mojo! Anybody know its whereabouts, or know anything about it?

That one must sound good as it's been played a lot!

Wasn't Music Machine getting a "replica" of this particular guitar?

My guess is that since #9 2204 was photographed by Elji Kikuchi and isn't one of the serials listed by Ichiro Kato, it is (or was at the time of the shoot) owned by Perry Margouleff. the big giveaway would be if it's in the big group shot of Margouleff and his guitars which was pulled from the English edition of BOTB, anyone care to scan the Margouleff photo from the Japanese edition fairly hi rez??

Joe

I was thinking the same thing about the close resemblance to Gladys. It would be great to A/B 'em. Think DZ would leave the Gotham penthouse to bring her to Arlington, and rub elbows with the hoi polloi? Naaaah!! :lol2

CLASSIC appearance, for sure! "delicate gradation can be observed"--that stuff kills me! :lol2

Interested in this serial number. Here is a pic of the Margouleff photo from the JPN edition of BOTB. Anyone know its history?

I believe that is Perry pictured with the Dirk Ziff collection about ~30 years ago back when the collection was about one tenth of what it is believed to be now.
