I just got an Alessandro Muzzle cheap from another forum member and i'm away traveling so haven't tried it yet. Will try tomorrow.

Anyone have experience with the Muzzle? How does it compare to the others out there? UA? Hotplate? Etc... It's a weird design in this big long metal box that seems empty...weird....but I have read it is very transparent was was in collaboration with Ken Fisher from Trainwreck but I don't know for sure.

Also, anyone hear of the Faustine Phantom? I checked it out on TGP and also Pete Thorn recorded a demo of it....check it out...

I am on the list for the Faustine and also just bought an Alex's Attenuator (a small builder from TGP). I am getting both this week.

The Faustine has a 5-6 month waiting list...

I used to have a Muzzle and it does compare to others by the fact that you can only attenuate so much before the tone really starts to suffer. I used to use the Muzzle to attenuate about 2 or 3 clicks (I forget the decibel value/click); just enough to take real loud volume down to kinda loud volume. It is a good unit for what it does.

I use a 4 Ohm Muzzle with my Fender Twin and Proreverb, and find it very transparent, doesnt color sound much at all!
It doesnt get down to Bedroom volume but it does get down to very good Gig levels where you can get good tube tone from my Twin!
it only knock,s level,s down to 10% from total,if 50 watt,s all the way down would be About 5 watts,I like it better then my THD hot plate.:3zone

The Faustine has gotten a lot of rave reviews over on TGP. But, they are super hard to come by. I think there are only a few out there, and quite a long waiting list! I'd like to try one.

Honestly, with all the attention that the Faustine is getting, it's an excellent time to purchse a used Ultimate Attenuator. They're turning up left and right for really good prices because people are looking for the next best thing....which isn't really all that much better, if at all.

I recently picked up a HO attenuator from HO directly (same as the UA except now not made overseas) and I also bought an Alex's Attenuator which is from the Gear Page.

The Alex's attenuator is just a tad more transparent and has less effect on the tone at extreme attenuation...slightly to mod attenuation it's hair splitting...

I'm on the Faustine list too....will buy one as well so I have the latest gadgets!
