• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I was at the 2004 Crossroads Festival in Dallas, TX. It was an absolutely incredible 3 day experience! Watching the DVDs reminds me of that weekend, but obviously is no where near the experience of being there. The best performances from that weekend are not on the DVDs. Enjoy the Chicago festival! You will have a great time!

What is so good when Eric Clapton plays a Gibson, to my ears it is the sound I want to hear.... He comes across on those vids as 'of age', a mature bluesman.... Very enjoyable.... :salude

'fraid I prefer the Gibbys over the lace-sensor Strat-era. More variety note-to-note than with the sig-series Strats.

Old Fenders-different story. He should have kept Brownie and Blackie...:wah

This one's amazing too. Sunburst in the 58-60 range? Sounds great.

Great sounds. I do think that this is a cherry post-'62...small block inlays. do I remember that this guitar is a '64? Not my field of expertise. I do prefer EC on Gibsons myself.

INdeed, the original post by Don L had links to clips with the cherry '64. The one I linked to was a sunburst with dot inlays and long pickguard.

My apologies, gadzooka. I must have slept through the morning.
