• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

A new track from my band where I play a Howard Roberts Fusion

I do like the sound of the Howard Roberts Fusion. It´s the stock neck pickup all the time; a Gibson 490 R. In my ears it sounds dry and woody, but it still bites. It´s the sound I want for this tune. The drummer forces me to play more out, and that´s good. We don´t want to play smooth jazz...

Definitely NOT smooth jazz, lol
I couldn't take a whole set of this, but I liked it!

I just wanted to show the dry and woody sound of my Gibson Howard Roberts Fusion with a Fender Deluxe Reverb. That was all.

I can hear it, I get it.

It sounds pretty aggressive. I really think I can hear the ebony fretboard and all the maple. Which tail piece does it have and how does the balsa (chromyte) center block work for you?

A close friend of mine just bought a Howard Roberts Fusion guitar. Killer axe. Very versatile instrument. LP to L5 type tones. A very inspiring and beautiful instrument.

I love jazz. You're a very talented player and so is the rest of your band.

Thanks.
It´s a black Howard Roberts Fusion with gold hardware from 1997, so it has the finger tail piece. The balsa center block work perfect, and gives often a smooth controlled feedback.

It doesn´t mean that I can play death metal with full distortion, though, but it´s possible to get a decent rock sound with the bridge pickup and a distortion pedal.

My friends amp is a Victoria. I don't know the model but he can change the tubes in it and make the amp anything from 5 to 35 watts. It is amazing how versatile this guitar is with that amp. Like you said, anything but metal. :dude:

Dude, I hope you did not take my comment as if I thought it was bad. Just intense, that is all.
