Hi All,

I've been looking through the archives for an hour and haven't found the answer to my question so I'll start another thread :)

I have a 2006 LP Custom BB '57 reissue with a Bigsby. It stays in tune fairly well but I was wondering if anyone knew of roller inserts for the ABR bridge. I'd like to keep the original bridge on it but have roller inserts. I've found roller bridges on various sites but they don't have the aesthetics I want so, if they are out there, replacing the saddles would be a good option.

It's not a really big deal as, like I said, the guitar stays in tune fairly well but if there's an easy fix, I'd look at it.

Thanks in advance.

I've never seen any roller saddles for an ABR-1 bridge. I know they make bridges with roller saddles, but not one that looks even remotely like an ABR-1.

Tone Pros TP6R-N LOCKING BRIDGE + Roller Saddles for Gibson Les Paul Nickel

Designed as a Gibson ABR "drop-in" replacement, they look a lot like the factory ABR. (Note: they come in both imperial
and metric versions) First, roller saddles eliminate any string buzz from the back on your bridge touching your strings. Second,
the locking design adds sustain, and keeps your bridge from accidentally falling off your guitar during string changes. Third,
rollers help keep your guitar in tune and Fourth, your strings will last longer because they lay across a smooth roller, instead of being pinched against the fulcrum edge of the factory ABR saddles. They also make a matching locking Stop tailpiece which is great! I use them on both my Les Paul and D'Angelico Semi, and I love the added sustain and stability. :)roller bridge.jpg

In response to your question, evidently Schaller makes the best ABR-1 specific replacements
in both roller, and traditional designs. :)

Maybe consider looking at the other end of the string to keep better tune than “fairly well”

Could you send a photo of the headstock showing tuning post?

What’s your string guage?

Are the nut grooves cleanly cut and strings not binding?

I agree! Bridges have little to do with most tuning issues. It's all about the nut cut, especially on
guitars with 3+3 string configurations. A well cut nut, a little graphite, and properly winding
your strings on good quality tuners, will help a lot more than upgrading your factory bridge,
and hoping for the best.
