• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I agree but the 'star' of the show is the Explorer imho but since it is a classic Aerosmith tune, I had to post it...

Agree, it acquits itself rather nicely!

Any more information on the year? I can't seem to find any.

The year of the Explorer? I believe it`s an Ibanez so late 70`s? [The show was Aug 7, 2018] Just a real cool video I think [other than not much of Joe Perry--Julie likes Johnny I bet!]

Lots of energy in that video--what a great band of rockers! Thanks for sharing the video. To me, it sure looks like 'Ibanez' is pressed on the Explorer`s headstock that Johnny Depp is playing in the video I posted above.

Yup, sorry, my bad. He does have a Gibson though... I was hoping to find out more on that one and didn't look closely enough! D'Oh!

For a limited time only: the sounds of sobriety, from 12 Aug '93

The first time I saw Aerosmith was on that tour. I've seen them probably a dozen or more times since. |
Each time they get better, except one show at the |Boston Garden in about 2010 or 11. They were just off that night. I saw them again a year or so later and they were on fire.

I saw them around then. They headlined a big hard rock show at Giants Stadium.
IIRC...Frank Marino, Ted Nugent and Rory Gallagher.
The Toxic Twins were both loaded and screwing up.
Tyler was stumbling onstage and forgetting the words.
It was pitiful to watch...like a junkie trying to get get up off the ground.
We left.

Brad Whitford probably hasn`t recv`d the recognition he should deserve as a member of Aerosmith. Kinda a cool story how he joined the band band back in `71. His lead work on 'Back in the Saddle' & 'Last Child' is stellar I think! Here`s 2 cool videos of him that are worth watching--

Next round, more recent: Mexico City, Arena Ciudad de Mexico, October 27, 2016:
- Joey prominent in the mix, straight and true beat keeping, old school. Sad to hear his wife died recently, ostensibly it was unexpected. RIP & God bless.
- Yup, @K_L agree about Whitford; Brad gets more 'due' here right out of the gate. Killer Last Child with him up front on stage and in the mix!
- Only Joe Perry can pull off that type of facial hair. And even then... oofah.

"Captured at Mexico City’s Arena Ciudad de Mexico on October 27, 2016, this epic show from the Rock ’N’ Roll Rumble Tour was enhanced with the discovery of the original multi-tracks that were added and mixed by Aerosmith’s longtime Soundboard Engineer John Ship. The band wastes no time getting into their groove as Steven Tyler swaggers through classics such as “Draw The Line” and “Rats In The Cellar,” as well as “Crazy” and their hit ballad “I Don't Want To Miss A Thing.” Teasing the crowd with a “You See Me Crying” and “Home Tonight” medley, Tyler breaks into a powerfully moving rendition of “Dream On,” before bringing the show to an explosive end with “Sweet Emotion.” Unearthed from Aerosmith’s legendary archive for the very first time and remastered in HD from the original master tapes."

Thank you so much @jb_abides for these videos as well as your great comments! The 'Toys in the Attic' video is fantastic! I skimmed thru the concert video above--they sure are 'firing on all cylinders'--both Joe & Brad are playing great! Thank you again!!

They take down the full concerts after a few days, but year to year they have proven to show them as red hot performers, still rocking, despite what some may feel about some of the 'Desmond Child' and other collaborator Rock N'Pop material. They make it work live. And every time they trot out the old school classic, it shines and they get off, too. Most of the mixes are great, too. I hope we see a live collection box set with videos, or someday they leave them up to stream. It's great stuff! And this coming from a hardcore early Aerosmith fan.
