• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Well, I was told there was no gold ABR-1 type "Gibson" bridge.
Lee, I don't know where you're shopping, but I can walk into two different music stores within 10 minutes of my office and buy a Gibson-packaged gold-plated ABR-1 right off the rack!!! When I bought the gold hardware for my Custom, it included a genuine wire-retainer ABR-1.

If you're looking for a Gibson-brand gold-plated ABR-1 and can't find one, I'll buy one here and send it along when I dig up the pickup cover! :lol2

Nice job. It does look better than I thought it would too.

Funny, I was just talking to someone Saturday day about Godtops and told him "there was a dude on the forum a while back that was going to put gold hardware on his goldtop" then bang, here's your follow-up with photos. Scary...

Thanks Rick. Very cool of you to offer the help, again!
I'm not sure if Dan had a Tone Pro bridge and posts, or just the posts. Tone Pro makes both, right? If they only make posts, then I will need a bridge too!

I'll surf some websites and see what Tone Pro makes, and I'll drop Dan another email to see exactly what he has.

Thanks again for the kind offer Rick!

So, Lee, do you want me to pick up one of these for you or do you want me to wait?

I like it. I would like to see some close-ups and some shots with the headstock so I can view the whole package in context.

OK, here is a shot of the whole guitar from the front.

Keep in mind that the tuners are gold, but the bushings are still silver until I get them swapped. Also, the bridge posts and a couple pickup ring screws are still silver as well (although I doubt it will be that noticeable in this photo).

I'll get a couple of good closeups and post them later.
I'll also get a couple shots of the back as well.

Kewl! Gibson should start offering a "Deon Sanders" option package with their guitars. Just like you can get the gold trim package on a Lexus etc.

Just messin with you. Looks really cool.

Do they make gold fret-wire?

Somebody does. Warmoth has started offering it.

P.S. I like the look of your guitar a lot.

That looks great!!! I have an Ebony "Limited Edition" Classic that came stock with all gold hardware. The tuners, pickup screws, scratch plate brackets, ABR-1, etc are all gold. So far, I have not covered the pickups, but I think about it all the time. What is involved in that process?
