• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

All this Fender talk...Why haven't they RI'd any '60's Piggyback amps?

I would think they could do well with a faithful repro of a blonde Bassman, or even a BF Bassman. Super simple designs, and I bet they'd fly off the shelves. Even the higher end stuff like the Showman. Dont ya think?

I've often wondered the same thing. Particularly as to the blonde Bassman and the blonde Showman. After the tweeds those were my favorite Fenders.

I agree. Bring on the blonde piggybacks! A late blonde Tremolux worked for Blind Faith! :dude:

mh, I don´t think so...
see, you can buy almost any ORIGINAL bf head for under a grand any day of the week.
the blonde heads are a tad higher generally - but even those can be found for reasonable prices.

or take a look at the prices for sf Bandmaster REVERBS vs. any of the sf combos with REVERB - the heads just don´t sell...

i just don´t think there´s a market for Fender-heads ;-)

cheers - 68.

Vintage Baby Boomers with bad backs, heart conditions, and tinnitus are putting the hurt on the bigger rigs.... The young guns want a Line 6 with all the dang fangled buttons..

Marsh is offering a Blonde 6G6B Bassman kit, so I wouldn't be surprised if a reissue is offered by Fender sometime in the near future. Of course I'd like to see a handwired version.

Yep they just look so spunky and ooze mojo imo.............I've yet to play one of these setups...none around my neck of the woods.

actually, Fender did get pretty close in terms of the LOOKS with the Tonemaster and Supersonic heads.
so it´s not like they don´t like them themselves ;-)

cheers - 68.

That Supersonic is a wolf in sheep's clothing, IMO. I found it to be way more impressive than I expected--very direct, punchy, present tone.
