• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Am I worthy?

There are 3 lefty 'bursts. A right handed collector owns one of them. You could buy Pearly Gates and not even in the ballpark with that kind of idiocy!

All of my guitars are top of the line because tone, feel, weight and yes even looks of a guitar are important to me. What's wrong with that? It's your money, why not spoil yourself a little?

you work for your money, and im sure you work hard

i am certain that many of the Rolex owners are not really overly concerned with what the time is.... :lol2 , they just enjoy owning the Rolex....and thats ok

-theres no need to be embarassed about what you have versus some pro player who has less - many of my guitar teachers over the course of my life have been gifted beyond the norm-but i do my thing all day and on weekends too sometimes and dont feel at all apolegetic -the fact is that being a great player does not mean you will be able to afford a great guitar, nor that the great guitar fairy will invest you with one based on virtue(osity) alone-and life inst fair-

you wouldnt ask yourself -do i deserve this pair of shoes or this brand of watch or this nice cut of steak-my point is that in the overall scheme of things this really isnt as much of an indulgence as you may think-

you will enjoy this new guitar-(and dont forget the amp and important aspect too-something to learn about and then get for yourself)

i would say this if you simply wanted to buy a new PRS or whatever just because you loved to look at it-and didnt play (and i know one woman you did just this-she loved the look of a PRS for its own aesthetic)-it hangs in her living room

not to be cavlier-but not only should you do this for yourself-but -it will inspire you-and perhaps take your interest to new place)-

guitar playing is not a competition-its abut playing for your own enjoyment/fulfillment at the most basic level-we all climb mountains at different paces :2zone

Skill level has nothing to do with the kind of gear you have. If you want it and can afford it go for it.

No different that wanting a very high performance car. None of us are F1 drivers but if you want and can afford a very top end Porche, Benz or Ferrari you do it.

Don't get caught up with the guilt factor some people or social climates might foist upon you.

You work hard for yer money, right?

If your bills are paid, family has all their needs met, and so forth, it's nobody's business BUT YOURS. You don't have to justify that to ANYONE, IMHO.

If you find enjoyment with it, and if you couldn't even play your way out of a paper bag, I still would say "more power to you".

Now if you were to decide that it's too much guitar for you, that's fine too.

Ain't 'Freedom' a wunnerful thing?
