• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Yes, yes I know no one watches it but all the same, have you seen this Taylor Hicks guy?? He won't make it far but he sure is a natural talent... I'd say he is the most natural I have seen in all of the seasons combined... Too bad it is a teeny bopper gig or he might have had a chance...

My daughter and I watch it. I think Taylor Hicks has a decent chance, doubtful that he is the idol of their vision but he should get a good gig if he doesn't make it. He didn't sound bad on the harmonica either but it was just a snippet. I've not been able to tell for sure if he is playing up the Joe Cocker animatronics or if it's his natural persona.

Hey, if it's good enough for Michael McDonald it's good enough for him. The dude's got style, and plenty of soul, R&B, and Gospel influences. He may not win, but he'll get a record deal for sure.

i actually know taylor hicks. that music is something he's into, but not really his real persona. i will keep my unfavorable first-hand opinions to myself though.

i don't think he expects to win. it's exposure..... a step in getting a contract out of it, without winning.

He seems like he is almost in the professional catagory. Even though I like him, should he be on the show? Or is it no different than what Bo did last year? He was basically a pro when he came as well.

It looks like the girl from Wrentham MA, Ayla Brown, is the one to beat. She definitely has close to the best voice, if not the best.

Yes she's good but again I liked Mellisa best of all... 2nd week in a row...

She's holding in there too, nice raspy voice. She may not have the range for it though.

Probably not, Ayla is probably gonna win on vocal ability alone but I would be much more likely to listen to Melissa so it should be worth something... I still think the best part of AI however is the way it forces people into the closet... No one wants to admit they watch it, no one wants to admit they like it and it cleaned the female figure skater's clock in the winter Olympic ratings... 2-1 is just unbelievable...

My wife and I watch it every year. It's not always my favorite style of music, though more of it is than people might think too. Anyway, I love watching the kids compete all the way to the finish. It takes a lot of ambition and competitiveness.

He's had my vote from the start. Didn't know that was Charlie D.'s son. Good on him. Seems like a personable young man. He's got a powerful voice in the vein of my musical tastes.

On the ladies side I don't think I could stand to hear Brenna sing again. All attitude and little talent. To my ears anyway. :toobad
