Just awesome! One of my favorites from his collection. Is it missing all of the string ferrules?

That's peculiar checking! the checking seems to be only in a 90 degree angle crossing the woodgrain of the body.
Never noticed that!

I'm with MeHereNow, it's cool that even the checking is a "V". I love everything about flying V's, the look, control layout, fret access, input jack, built in guitar stand and headstock/string angles.

Cool pics, thanks for sharing.

:4zone. What a treat!

Simply stunning guitar and photos! Those old vintage Flying Vs are jewels. I can only imagine how good this guitar plays and sounds.

I noticed a thrid strap button located on the back by the neck heel. :dangAnyone know if that strap button is original? It looks to be more stout than the other two, making it more secure with a guitar strap. I'm guessing it was added by one of the owners after the guitar left the factory.

Wow. Gorgeous. Thanks, Charlie!

What's the neck size and shape like?

I wonder they had any issues with getting long enough strings back then, with the through-body and headstock shape??
