• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I just got the 2008 version of SolidWorks at work. This is my first direct exposure to it. Any one here use it on a regular basis? Please tell me the learning curve isn't going to be as long as it seems right now.

I have SolidWorks 2005 at home and use Pro/Enigneer Wildfire 2 and 3 at home and work.

I don't use SolidWorks at work so I don't have an up to date version.

I have messed around with it and do intend to learn it at some point. I have found taking a course at a local ROP or Jr. College to be the fast track to getting a solid start on these types of programs as I did with Mastercam and Autocad.

We are scheduled for some training classes in January, but for now I'm left to struggle with it.

I use Esprit for a CAM package. Having solids makes life with Esprit much easier. Trying to learn SolidWorks so I can create the solids I need when a customer can't provide them.

Can get frustrating when you know there is a easy way to do something but you can't seem to find the correct mouse clicks.
