• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Anyone going to the Northeast Guitar Show tomorrow?

I'll be there for sure, little guy in tow.
I've been looking forward to this since it was announced.
There were a couple shows several years ago, but there hasn';t been a good guitar show around the Greater Boston / Eastern Mass area for a while.
Got a couple guitars I'm going to toss in the car, in case there';s any interest in trading / selling them. Nothing great or vintage, to be sure, but one might be worth a couple bucks.

Cool man. A few years back I went to one in Connecticut which ended up to be more of a drive than it was worth from where I was staying at the time. I have nothing going on so figure it's a good way to kill a day. Good luck!

Nice! We have a vintage show coming here in September. Just saw the ad today. It was on my birthday last year and it's the 2 days before it this year. I only started learning to play in Dec 2019 so I haven't been to any shows, yet. This will be my first one as long as it isn't canceled.

I've been following this since they announced it was coming here in fall '19, I think? Origninally supposed to be held a year ago, put off till october, then early april, and finally now.
And it helps that it's less than 10 minutes from my house... :)

So I got back a bit ago.
Was a fun show, though there wasn't a ton of vendors - in chatting with a couple, I guess a bunch pulled out for covid worries. Guess I can't blame them too much.
I'm not as up on prices these days, but most I saw were fairly reasonable. A couple older vintage prices were higher than |I expected, though there was a refin '58 Strat reasonable - |I'm not in the market so I didn't look closely.
I did see a bunch of deals happenning, I sold one of my guitars, but didn't see anything I was really interested in.
Wish there were more pedals and accessories, but I talked to Stombox Sonic for a bit and the pickup guy nearby was pretty interesting.

I looked for you jr. I bought a pedal from Stompbox Sonic. Jim's has a Build a Burst there- maybe 2- I didn't have cash to buy so I didn't bother to disturb him asking a question posed merely out of desire to know. Most of the dealers though were actually very cordial and there were many builders there who were more than happy to let you try their wares (as would be expected). The turnout was good. I saw two jrs there that should have been in the $7-8K range that were over $10. Again I didn't have the cash to deal so who knows what they would have actually gone for.
Jim Wosniki (sorry Jim) was there with a bunch of Les Paul's gear- nothing too sacred for Les to take a saw to it and make it work like he needed. Jim had two of Les' very first "multi-track" records. He will be making the rounds to shows- it was one of Les' wishes and Jim is making good.
NO- none-zero- not a single amplifier for sale.
Keins.
It was a good venue- The cacophony was mild (the no amps for sale was maybe part of the terms with the venue?) I will go again.

I impulse-bought an Earthquaker Devices Astral Destiny- a reverb pedal with an octave and chorus element. I have not had any time to try it as my wife is leaving on a trip. I was looking for a straight-up reverb pedal but was not interested in something requiring an EE.

Yet I bought this.

I did take a couple pics- I have to post them special for this pub.

I played a couple of the SBS rigs, and was impressed by a couple of the pedals, especially the Electric Audio Longsword, and a couple of the pedals at the Stonewall Pickups booth. There wasn't much guitarwise in my range - I did see those |Juniors, a single and a double cut, both at like $12k? I know the prices are going up on those, but just a couple years ago they were running $5k or so. I liked some of the builders too - a few are really pricey, but others are pretty reasonable. I played a couple acoustics by the guy who used the sinker lumber, I was really impressed by the sounds on those. I think there were a couple amps, but a lot of vendors were using headphone rigs or really small amps - and agreed that the absense of the usuall noise blasting from all corners was refreshing. FWIW, I was wearing a Rush shirt and had the kiddo with me in a Beatles Yellow Submarine shirt. There's a video from one of the vendors, Sandhill Six Strings, that I was in the background at the Stompbox Sonic table.
