• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I'm leaving from NYC Pier for a cruise on Sunday. The directions I have are pretty straight forward to get there from RI, pretty much 95 South to H Hudson Pkwy, if I hit the G.W. bridge, I went to far right? Is there any construction and/or detours in the area?

Thanks!

Yes, 95 south to Henry Hudson Pky will put you on the West Side Highway. The Piers are off to the right of that heading south.

But when you take 95 south, it becomes the dreaded Cross Bronx Expressway after exit 6. That is almost always backed up. Leave yourself plenty of time to enjoy the view of the back of a semi when you get there. Distance wise it's not that far on the Cross Bronx, but it can take an extra hour on traffic days to get from the split (x7) to the Henry Hudson exit.

Edit: Once you get off the Cross Bronx (95) really pay close attention to the signs. Everything is all on tight cloverleafs and if you're in the wrong lane you could wind up heading north on the Henry Hudson or somewhere else.

Have a nice cruise!

Oh one other thing, if you are leaving Sunday, the morning traffic usually isn't too bad, after 12:00PM it's pretty much deadlocked.

TAKE JT's advice. I avoid 95 and the cross bronx at all costs because even at 2 am its hard to get a "clear road" there.

Even if you end up on the bridge heading towards jersey make sure you take the LOWER level as there will be an exit for the H. Hudson parkway off the bridge as well.

Have a great time!
