• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Anyone know much 'bout those old Gibson/Kluson "Sealfast" Tuners?

I might have a little stripped husk of an old box on the way. I have some parts ready to go but one thing that's perplexing is it looks like there's no reissue or cheat version of the Sealfast tuners that came on the big archtops? Help? And, they're crazy expensive to buy an old set, too rich for my blood.

Preferably I'd like most any tuner that will fit the screw holes/reams without modification but judging by photos alone sealfast have a wider screw spread than waffle backs or other options. And here I thought everything had been reissued by this point, I even looked at newer L5's to see they have...grovers now :bigal

Anyone ever solve this conundrum or will I just be stuck drilling new holes to insert some plain jane keys?
