• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Anyone own any Rock Star/Celebrity Owned and Played Instruments?

Hey!

I wanted to make a forum just asking if anyone has any really cool guitars owned/played by rockstars! I am a big collector so wanted to share some of my items too. I own one of Bruce Springsteen's stage used guitars, a Paul Stanley Guitar and a Tom Petty Guitar. Do you guys got anything cool?

Lets see!

Not sure this qualifies, however, I "scavenged" a beat up tambourine that was left behind on stage by Jim Peterik (the Ides of March) when they played at Fort Hunt High School in 1971.

I own Jimmy Fey's lefty ES-345 from 1964.
He and his band never made the big-time, but they opened for lots of the great ones. The B&W is April 28, 1968 opening for Cream. Check out the factory-done personalized fingerboard. It's no longer on the guitar, but I do have it. BTW, I'm sure the board was done by Gibson, as I've seen others with the same script.
This guitar has been a game-changer!

Not a guitar, but back in '92 or '93 I bought a 1972 Super Lead head, from Jimmy Brown @ The Guitar Emporium in Louisville, that was part of David Grissom's backline when he toured with John Mellencamp. A couple years back I contacted David, who confirmed he did do a fair amount of business with Jimmy, although he doesn't remember the specific head. It was one of two Super Leads the store bought. My buddy still has the other one.

I have a bright pink guitar pick that was once owned by Steve Morse and my friend has a drum stick that was once owned by Bev Bevan (he wrenched it from the hand of a girl who caught it first), although there's not much left since his dog chewed it up. :hank
