• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Hi folks,

I'm not sure if this was the right area to post this thread, if not I apologize, but I was amazed when I started looking at the amount of apps available for an iphone/android available. I thought it was really cool, especially because my daughter now is fascinated with the sounds generated from my phone, and to me thats really important to cultivate the interest in a child. So I was just curious who likes what apps best out there? Right now I find the Peavey Ampkit really fun, and the tabs from ultimate guitar.

Apps is plural for app so, theoretically, it is what apps "are." Apps is short for applications which is what the little icons are on most phones and iPads are.

This is a great thought as I like doing things with my (2 year-old) daughter. The problem I have is that if I do it too much she takes my phone and tries to play with it on her own. And since it is a work phone, I really can't let that happen. I use animal pics/sounds and a Dora app. But musical stuff is something I am embarrassed to say I have never really looked into. But I will start looking. Thanks for the idea!

I like the Ultimate Tabs too, I like that you can change the key on them.

Peterson iStrobosoft Tuner
Polytune tuner
iReal b backing tracks (I installed this for practicing on the Hammond, haven't used it yet.)

Agree on the Peterson iStroboSoft tuner. Not something your child will play with but the best $10 I have ever spent.

My iPhone doesn't like logging off the LPF. The page freezes. The only way to fix it is to turn the iPhone off and on again.

But then again, I'm no good with technology.

Would be nice to have Les Paul Forum app for the iPhone.

There are forum reading apps out there that make it easier to read forums on a phone. I'm not sure of Iphone, but Tapatalk is a very popular one on Android. I'm sure there must be several others.

I use the ClearTune app, I don't remember how much I paid for it but it's come in handy more times than I can count! Plus it's kind of fun to turn on during a lecture and watch it fly around as the professor speaks...

Also the Ultimate Guitar tabs app, pretty sweet to have on hand.

I just deleted a bunch that I wasn't using. However, for a child I might search for "loop" or "beats". There are a bunch out there that play sounds and they could piece together little songs.

Here are some of the music apps I use:
  • Spark (for the Spark amp)
  • Amplitube
  • Tonebridge
  • Amazing Slow Downer
  • ToneStack
  • Fender Tune
  • SuperMetronome
  • AudioShare
  • BiasAmp
  • DrumLoops

Learning about forum reading apps for mobile, such as Tapatalk on Android, could evoke curiosity. Thoughts might revolve around convenience—visualizing an easier, streamlined forum experience on a phone. Users may consider exploring various apps to enhance their mobile forum interactions and discovering more options for their preferred platform.
