• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I guess I'm cheating because these are all Gibson-made:

Broken glass inlays. I want one of these.

You do. They are exquisite.

First saw Bill's arch top magic in his shop in @1988, when I walked into his shop (him and Bruce were the whole crew) and he was working on a big body arch top for Lyle Lovette, broken glass on fretboard.

Ordered a D42 Cutaway in Brazilian/Adi Spruce...I'll post a photo when I find it. Told me that he couldn't take an order for another arch top for a year or three...needed to make guitars to pay bills, and they took too much time.

For 20 years hoped I'd see one of his arch tops with broken glass come up. Then, the NAMM demo of CL Jazz showed up on Acoustic Music Works, grabbed it.

A Martin & Dale Unger CF1.

:salude

Dale lives right down the road from me... My son and his son are friends and graduated High School together... The crazy thing is, I think I had one guitar related discussion with Dale over the years and it had nothing to do with his archtops... Go figure... :hmm

And by the way... His son Tyler is a very good player...

I'll play. Here's my beloved, handcrafted by a solo luthier in Japan.

Circa 1979 Shiro Tsuji "Gem B"

The recurve was what tipped me off that this would be a very special instrument.

Self-confidence is so important for luthiers, don't you think? How's this for a motto:
