• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Byrd passed away March 10th in Nashville. He was the original Amazing Rhythm Aces guitarist, Sam Phillips/Sun Producer, Nashville Producer, pilot, and incredible guitarist.

Byrd was 61 and I'm 59. In 1971, as a member of The Loved Ones (and later, Cow Catcher), Byrd was Duane Allman in my eyes. He hit every lick, looked the part and was, indeed, my idol. Yeah, we all have guitar heros. But .... Byrd, more than once, took the time to encourage me to grab a Les Paul and live my dreams. He even encouraged me on the acoustic path.

I did have the chance to thank my hero about five years ago .... although he had no idea he was held in high esteem. He was a humble, talented man.

God Bless you Byrd! hank
