Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
This is a recent acquisition. It's a 1971 V-4B with a 2x15 cab. I was trying to find something that could sound like a B15 with more power. This sounds like everything from a B15 to an SVT. I really have no idea how these aren't more sought after as studio amps especially. The overdrive when you push it is really something special. There isn't a sound I want that I can't get on it.
I have a Fender Studio Bass amp that I really don't use. 180 watts of tube power isn't necessary in my music room. I
(I've been notified that the amp file is too large)
have one bass guitar and I play that into my modified Peavey KB100 amp. I can play along with my drum machine through the same amp. I removed and replaced the piezo tweeter and replaced it with a super tweeter, I added a 3-way crossover network and added a JBL Human-voiced midrange speaker. The amp sounds great for bass, drum machine and vocals.
