• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I just found out something very interesting. I was going to post some items for sale on nh.craigslist.org.

i typed it in my browser bar without the dot between nh and craigslist.org.

I got some classifieds ads clearinghouse site, all sorts of sponsored sites that said 'free' ads. Had craigslist.org been bought out? I went back to my old emails, found a link to an ad I placed earlier, and got back to the familiar site I was looking for. That's when I found out I forgot the first dot.

there's something a little sneaky about that, and I have a feeling that if i had a windows machine, I'd be festering with all sorts of adware and spyware. Maybe I am on my mac, but I kind of doubt it unless proven otherwise.

just wanted to give you all a heads up about that. I, for one, do not trust people who fell it is ok to try a sneaky underhanded way to get your web business this way.

Excellent point. Thanks for the heads up.

But let's expand it to "Be careful using.....the Internet."

craigslist.org works great for me. I actually just bought a LP Custom off of it and things went off without a hitch!

I looked at it once only and found a plexi Marshall major for sale for $1000!

I drug my feet a bit as I don't need it and by the time I decided I wanted it it was gone.

I hooked up with all my bandmates thru Craigslist... love it. But it is good to be aware.

Yes search for Marshall, Gibson, etc. and some really interesting stuff can come up. You're right, it goes fast if it's a bargain. And you can just go an pick it up if you search locally. no shipping fees!

Yeah this one was local. Is it common to buy and sell out of state?

it might be if you live near a border like I do. Practically every time I put something in an ad, specifying local or NH only, about 3 out of 4 responses come from MA. As long as it is reasonable, I'll sell.
