What kinda bands were you in at the time?
A college 4 piece and played gigs at our Auckland Uni on the odd occasion, playing a cross section of stuff from up tempo blues to folk rock.

Yep, and uni students protesting the war in Vietnam.
I was in my mid teens and the world was starting to open up for me, things were pretty manageable back then.
I know things were kinda tough back in the 60/70s.. but I truly wish I was born a decade earlier (in the USA) .. and been on the college circuit as a muso..

From what I understand it was tough in England in the '60s however here in NZ and in Aussie it was pretty much halcyon days, wasn't until the later '70s that it started to go a bit pear shaped economically.
The '50s was when our country started to prosper and really grow again after the war, the rock'n'roll days.

I'm in the younger crowd here but I can't believe the volumes they were able(allowed) to play at back in the day. I'm not even talking the stacks. I would love to ever have a chance to dime a Bluesbreaker Combo with a band. It would be glorious.
