That neck pickup is godly sounding. Someone should figure out why that one sounds the way it does. The neck pickup on the goldtop Dickey played later on didn't sound the same.
Yes, Nov 88 Cannery Nashville. Vintage Les Paul masterclass in tone and technique if there ever was one. His solo starting @ 38:30 unreal. I was lucky to fnd the dvd @ the library so I could enjoy the better audio. I hope another Les Paul master got this guitar and takes it on the road to let it sing to the masses once again. btw Dan's brother David on drums...tremendous player as well.Is this the show that you were talking about? Holy Cow! Dan Toler is a Master here. His playing is so expressive. Thanks for the heads up, I can't believe I've missed this all of these years.
I checked after the official aucion close time. No bidders, but deadline was extended. I don't think it sold.Guitar and amp both deliver... The Goods.
Any updated rumors regarding the winning bidder?
Will we hear this anew on stage and in studio, or will it be relegated to a secure location and occasionally be trotted out and placed in the hands of a big name?
I'm No Angel but I may be a Holy Man.
Seemed pretty nice to me. But the very last time I played it was in 2003, so who knowsDo you remember the playability on the guitar? I recall reading years back that it was on it's last stretch with the original banjo frets?
Gregg was pretty good during this time era inspite of being pretty vodka and coked up..Is this the show that you were talking about? Holy Cow! Dan Toler is a Master here. His playing is so expressive. Thanks for the heads up, I can't believe I've missed this all of these years.
You left out the mullets. It sounded fine on the dvd but I was only listening to the great guitar and player.I don't like 80's mixes. The drums are too compressed and EQ'd up higher and the Bass sounds way too bright.
