• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Saw ZZ Top last night; the Reverend was in fine form - love that SG with the sideways and V neck:

Saw them last month at the Greek here in L.A. and they we're absolutely KILLING IT!
It was so nailed and perfect, there we're moments it almost sounded pre-recorded...
Billy was on fire all night!

He's got a black one of those SG's as well....maybe one in every color??? How many of those Magnatones are online??? I don't see some cables??? I wanted to know if he was playing through the Vib channel or the straight channel?? Wouldn't you just love to see them play through one amp apiece with only a cable going from the guitar to the amp? wouldn't you???? Maybe I need to see them one more time???

Saw them last summer - always well worth going to, even if the setlists don't change much from year to year. Would have been even better if Dusty Hill had spent less time playing the keyboards though, as far as I'm concerned. I've always loved his live bass tone.

He only played 1 song on the keyboard, which seems like a waste.

I'd bet Billy is still playing through his classic JMP1 rack rig hidden backstage, and that all those amps in the backline are for the show.
Still killer though, great to see them rocking like this! :salude

John Bolin builds some of the best stuff.... a close look at the headstock shows the Bolin skull and sword crest, and he's Billy's personal luthier so I'm guessing this is another Bolin creation.:yah:yah:yah:yah:dude::dude::dude::dude::dude:

thanks for that insight, Ducryder. It is too bad that he doesn't design his own headstock so as to separate his guitars from Gibson....from a distance. You know...trademarks, personal pride and all considered....imho.
