I was in the local music store today and noticed a beautiful Desert Burst standard and decided to have a look. When I checked it out I noticed on the neck there were lines where the paint appeared to be seperating. One spot was where the nut was underneath when in the playing position. The other was near the fret board on top. The salesman said he's seen a few that have this and said it's because the black paint is painted over these areas and eventually seperates.
Does anyone know if this is true? I've got a Studio with a black painted back and am worried this may happen to mine. It sounds like it may be a widespread problem and something to look out for. Thanks...
