• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Yeah, it's actually a bit dissapointing reading the responses in this thread IMHO. It's weird that whenever someone refinishes/routes an original 50's Goldtop to get a conversion burst, AT LEAST 50% of the responses are positive like "It's HIS guitar, he can do whatever the F...K he WANTS!!", but when you recommend this, completely reverseable and non intrusive mod, the general response is a lot more negative :hmm

Anyway, this thread inspired me to put mine on again next string change just to try it again. Thanks :salude

Well, the original post came off as a marketing add rather than a review.
And, what does it matter if no one has tried it but can see that it looks goofy?
Can we not judge based on aesthetic?
Especially when there already exists a more visually pleasing option that has already proven to be effective?

Assuming this New bridge is also as effective. I mean, in tune and intonated is not qualitative?
Then we’re left with looks.
And that bridge does not look the part?

And FWIW I’m in the 50% of people who think conversions can Eff right off.

I don't think I'm able to get my point across. It felt a bit like raining on someones parade (that's just how I read it, but maybe I was wrong), which I'm not a fan of, so I tried to give my constructive qritique/experience with the bridge.

It didn't seem like an add to me, isn't "Hey look what a great thing I bought!"-threads, like, the cornerstone of this forum?

Of course people can dislike the look, it never bothered me one bit. All intonated replacements look like replacement.

But hey, it's not a big deal, everyone here's cool as far as I'm concerned :)

....Regarding conversions, I wholeheartedly agree with you, but that never ends well... :laugh2:

A "marketing add"? Really? :dang

Please enlighten us, Mr. Madison Avenue, what exactly do you see as the primary difference between an end-user review of an aftermarket guitar bridge,...... and a "marketing add"? BTW, may we assume you majored in Marketing, while earning your four-year college degree? :hmm

I'm certainly on board with the concept and have implemented it on 2 of my juniors in the form of the MojoAxe. I much prefer the look of the MojoAxe, as the ridge looks much more like an original part with the less obvious crown.

I like both bridges. In my experience the SF feels more stable and the compensation is slightly more accurate than the Mojoaxe. It's also lower profile and wider which seems to fit my hand and playing style better, but it does look like a PRS part. The Mojoaxe intonates more accurately than a stock bridge, is beautifully made and does not look out of place on an old guitar. I can't hear a difference between the two on my old Juniors.

......... but it does look like a PRS part.......

'nuff said. I don't want anything looking like a PRS part on my old Gibbys. Guess I'm a traditionalist.

Will this Music City Bridge work on my custom shop 58' Les paul Junior DC VOS without changing studs? Thanks for any help.

I'm good with Mojoaxe. I have both their wrap on my Special and their trap on the '53.
