• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I am restoring a 1956 Les Paul Jr that my wife gave me in 1969. One of the many things I need to do is to plug and reinstall the bridge posts so I can re-install the original bridge. I need to find the exact placement for the studs. I will be installing the longer studs. Any suggestions as to where to get this information. I also need pickup location to re-rout for the original P90.
Thanks from an old man trying to bring back the past.

Hi, and welcome. It would be great to see some photos of your old Junior!

Here's a thread on another forum that may have some answers.

Post #100, on page 5, has some pickup routing measurements. Hope this helps with your restoration.

I hope I posted these pic properly. As you can see it needs some work. I do have a few slabs of Mahogany that match it pretty well. Just not sure how much to replace. I had a "friend" install 2 PAFs and a Tunematic bridge back in the 70's . He had to paint it black to cover the woodfiller.

Here is one of the pots. The guitar was originally a sunburst. Luckily I still have the P90 but I don't think these were the tuners that came on this from the factory.
