• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Burst deals are getting harder and harder to do!!!!!!

It's my 3rd night in this Quality Inn waiting for the mechanics of a deal for a 58 flametop to finish. Gone are the days of floppping down 25K in cash and walking out with the guitar. Do you guys have any idea what a PAIN it is do wire a large some of money across borders! I feel like a stock broker! I'm going to write an E-book about this one! There's just so much to tell.

You're on the front lines of burstdom. Hell, somebody's gotta do it. But across the border? This is intriguing!

JJB is in Canada. What I mean is he lives in Canada. Don't know where he is at the moment.

International wire transfers can usually take a few days to complete. I'm sure this temporary hassle will be worth it once you get your new toy! Congratulations!

P.S. You've got to show us some pictures!

That's why I quit messing with Bursts. Everyone has to have their thumb on the scale, if you know what I mean.

These deals only get infinitesimally harder for me to do. Its one of the benefits of not having a chance to do them at all, even at 'ten years ago' prices :)

On some burst deal I had entertained, the guy asked me to send 350k in cash through FedEx in packs of 15k... I thought to myself are you outta your f#$@ing mind??? I guess it's part of the burst mystique.
