The real Ace burst is for sale by his owner now, Al Romano. No affiliation with him.

From Al's FB
"I am honored! When I was a teenager I idolized Mark Reale and went to many of his concerts. Mark was undeniably one of the greats in hard rock music. I listened Riot all day yesterday as I played his guitar and smiled. I actually knew about Mark's guitar in 1983. When I heard that Mark had a 59 it made me want to get one even more. Who would've ever thought years later that I would end up owning the best 59 in history and Mark's guitar? both I love. Now that I have Mark's guitar I have decided to sell Aces guitar in the next year. The price is going to be heavy.. Thanks again to my friend Uncle Lou."

I think Al's asking price is going to make the Grainger burst look cheap.:jim

I like Al.... He is a real character....Took lessons from Leslie West and owns his 67 V with the P-90... He has a lot of nice guitars including the Ace burst.... It is super flamey and sounded good when I played a year or so ago. I think if you add a dollar to the Grainger you may be in the ball park... :salude

Al's an interesting kid.....we were just rolling along, and Gilvis' name came up and he did a 180 on me. He did me a favor I believe....

really Mark's over Ace??????????

Sure. Why not? Have you ever seen Mark Reale and Riot? Those guys may not have been as "popular" as Kiss, but they could play circles around them. And they did it without all the cheesy makeup and silly costumes.

nope to be honest I didn't, I listened to them in the past days and it turned out I knew some of their songs but they did not make a lasting impression on me apparently (I like what I heard but they sounded a bit like tnt to me, which is not a bad thing btw)

btw there are lots of bands whose musicians can play circles around kiss, very few had such an impact on young guitarists who because of Ace wanted a Les Paul ;)

Just found it! Don't really know if it is the original one, but...It has klusons installed and the ones Gibson just released have grovers.
Tom, CD what do you think?
